The making of ‘Jana Nayagan’ has given fans several reasons to stay curious, from Vijay’s final film plans to the scale of its action and song sequences. Now, an interesting detail about the film’s massive set has come to light. Director H Vinoth explained how a conversation during the production led the team to take a different approach to the sets created for the Vijay-starrer.A major portion of ‘Jana Nayagan’ was filmed inside a single large set. H Vinoth revealed that nearly 95 per cent of the movie, including fights, songs and talkie portions, was shot there. Interestingly, instead of dismantling the set after completing the shoot, the team decided to keep it intact so that other filmmakers could use it.

Speaking about the decision with Cine Ulagam, H Vinoth explained that the team wanted the expensive set to have a life beyond ‘Jana Nayagan’. He said, “While shooting the film, we had a few wishes. We wanted this film set to be useful for many other films, so we decided to keep the set intact without dismantling it.”The director pointed out that building such large sets can be difficult for smaller productions because of the cost involved. He added that keeping the existing structure could help filmmakers who may not have the budget to create similar locations from scratch. When asked who should receive credit for preserving the set, H Vinoth was quick to point to producer KVN.

H Vinoth revealed that KVN Productions backed the idea from the beginning. “The entire credit goes to KVN Sir. He told us to keep the set exactly as it is,” the director said. His comments show that the decision was not simply about saving a piece of the film’s production design but also about helping future projects.H Vinoth also revealed that the set was used for some of the key moments in ‘Jana Nayagan’. “Right now, we are in Africa. This very set is where we shot the villain’s introduction scene and the interval sequence,” he said. The scale of the set also helped the team film multiple portions of Vijay’s much-awaited final movie.
