Punjab PTI Recruitment 2026: The Education Recruitment Directorate (ERD), Punjab, will close the online application window for Physical Training Instructor (PTI) posts in the Primary Cadre today, August 31, 2026. The recruitment drive covers 2,000 vacancies under Advertisement Number E-888608/2026208471.The notification was issued on July 31, 2026, and applications began on August 1. Eligible candidates who have not submitted their forms can apply online until the prescribed deadline. The written examination date will be announced separately.Punjab PTI vacancy and qualificationThe PTI Primary Cadre post carries a fixed initial pay of Rs. 29,200 per month. Candidates must be aged between 18 and 37 years, with the age calculated as on January 1, 2026. Applicable age relaxation will be provided according to the rules.Candidates must have passed Class 12 with a D.P.Ed or C.P.Ed diploma and Matriculation with Punjabi. Candidates appearing in the final year of the D.P.Ed or C.P.Ed course can also apply, provided they obtain the required qualification by the written examination date.

Application fee and selection processThe application fee is Rs. 2,000 for UR, General, OBC, EWS and other applicable categories. SC and ST candidates must pay Rs. 1,000, while ESM candidates applying under the self category are exempt.Selection includes a mandatory Punjabi Language Test at Matriculation standard, requiring at least 50% marks, followed by an objective departmental written examination carrying 70 marks. Sports achievement can provide weightage of up to 30 marks based on gradation.The Physical Eligibility Test (PET) is qualifying in nature. Candidates must clear at least three of its five components. Persons with Disabilities are exempt from the PET.PET requirements for candidatesThe five PET components are the 30-metre flying start, standing broad jump, 6├Ч10-metre shuttle run, bend and reach, and 1,600-metre run.For the 30-metre flying start, the required time is five seconds for male candidates and 5.80 seconds for female candidates.
