Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has reportedly placed a deposit on what could become the most expensive condo ever sold in Los Angeles, according to a report by Luxury Launches. The property consists of six-bedrooms and 17,000-square-foot penthouse at the upcoming Aman Beverly Hills. Priced at $200 million, or nearly $12,000 per square foot, the residence crowns one of two residential towers in the luxury development, scheduled to open in 2028. Designed by Kerry Hill Architects, the penthouse spans more than 31,000 square feet of combined interior and exterior space.
All about Jeff Bezos’ new expensive penthouse
The penthouse sits atop one of two residential towers at Aman Beverly Hills, an upcoming hotel development featuring Aman-branded residences and a private Aman Club, set on ten acres of botanical gardens and slated to open in 2028. Priced at $200 million, or nearly $12,000 per square foot, the unit would set a new record for L.A. condo sales if the purchase closes — regardless of whether Bezos or another billionaire ultimately signs on the dotted line.According to The Hollywood Reporter, the residence spans more than 31,000 square feet when combining interior and exterior space, crowning a 28-story tower with views stretching across the Los Angeles Country Club, the Hollywood Hills, Downtown L.A., and the Pacific Ocean. Designed by Kerry Hill Architects, the interiors feature 22-foot ceilings and blend California mid-century modernism with Aman’s signature Japanese-influenced restraint, built from stone, timber, and metal in muted tones. The penthouse is layered between three separate levels of gardens and terraces, anchored by a 65-foot rooftop swimming pool with an attached Jacuzzi — a setup reminiscent of the amenities aboard a large superyacht, not unlike Bezos’s own roughly $500 million vessel, Koru. Outdoor spaces include multiple fireplaces, dining terraces, lounges, and a yoga deck, alongside a private cinema. Residents also get privileged access to Aman’s planned 100,000-square-foot standalone club, built around wellness, dining, fitness, and social programming — described as the first freestanding club of its kind for the brand.
A neighborhood of billionaires
If the deal closes, Bezos will add the Aman penthouse to his growing Los Angeles portfolio, which already includes the Jack Warner Estate purchased for $165 million. The Aman residence would serve as a holiday home, complementing his primary residence on Indian Creek Island.
